Festliche Preisverleihung des FAG Innovation Awards.

Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler hieß als Stiftungsratsvorsitzende die Gäste diesmal in der historischen Diele des Rathauses in Schweinfurt willkommen. Der Innovation Award gehört zu den bedeutendsten deutschen Technikpreisen und zeichnet wissenschaftliche Arbeiten aus, die Bezug zur Wälzlagertechnik haben. Bayerns Wissenschaftsminster Dr. Thomas Goppel sah darin ein Zeichen dafür, dass Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft sich gegenseitig befruchten.

Special ceremony for the FAG Innovation Awards.

As president of the foundation board, Maria-Elisabeth Schaeffler welcomed guests to the entrance hall of Schweinfurt’s historic city hall. The Innovation Award is one of Germany’s most important prizes for technology and is awarded for scientific works that are related to rolling bearing technology. Bavaria’s economics minister, Dr. Thomas Goppel, perceives the award as an sign that science and business can provide impetus for each other. However, he noted that basic research at university level must lead more rapidly to innovations.
